About the Event
Steve Baas is The Executive Director of the Wisconsin Transportation Builders Association. The WTBA serves its more than 200 member companies in the transportation construction industry through government advocacy, technical and regulatory assistance, workforce, and safety services. WTBA member companies provide the design and construction work to provide the critical infrastructure for everything that rolls, flies, or floats in Wisconsin.
Before coming to the WTBA, Mr. Baas was the Senior Vice President for Government Affairs and Public Policy at the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce. Mr. Baas came to MMAC with more than 16 years of government and political experience, including policy positions within Governor Tommy Thompson’s administration and the Wisconsin Legislature. Baas served from 1997 to 2005 as the Communications Director for the Speaker of the Assembly. He is a graduate of Calvin College and holds degrees in political science and communications.
